SUMMARY

The Burn Critical Care Clinical Pharmacist Specialist is a licensed pharmacist who is responsible for applying knowledge, skill, competence and clinical expertise in our burn ICU team to provide direct patientt care services, including the safe and cost-effective use of medications. The roles of this clinical pharmacist are those of advanced practitioner, educator, consultant, leader and researcher.

The Burn Critical Care Clinical Pharmacist Specialist applies his/her knowledge of, and clinical training in, pharmacotherapy to directly influence and impact physician prescribing to improve the use of medications throughout the Health System and to enhance positive drug therapy outcomes.

Other functions include precepting pharmacy PGY-1 and PGY-2 residents and doctoral-level pharmacy students, participating in staff development, creating opportunities for pharmacist to practice more clinically and promote rational and cost-effective use of medications at Grady Health System.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from an ACPE - accredited School of Pharmacy, licensure or license eligible in the State of Georgia within 90 days
  • Completion of ASHP - accredited PGY-1 and PGY-2 Residencies (or five (5) years post PGY-1 residency experience)
  • Board Certification in Critical Care Disease preferred.
  • Fully licensed as a pharmacist in the State of Georgia or eligible for full licensure within 90 days through reciprocity or exam.
