The Healthy Communities Team at RK&K is dedicated to developing multimodal transportation infrastructure and public spaces for people, with people. Our 15-20 person team includes planners, landscape architects, civil engineers, graphic designers, public engagement specialists, and web developers. We effectively share work, with an average of around 70 active projects at any given time, we are collaborative and inclusive by design.

RK&K is committed to finding a dedicated and passionate Project Coordinator to support our Healthy Communities team in our Baltimore, MD office. This role is essential to ensuring the success of projects that contribute to building healthy, sustainable, and resilient communities. In this position, you will play a key role in providing administrative and project support to our team focused on active transportation, trail feasibility studies, human-focused public spaces, and equitable public engagement.

Essential Functions



  • Assist with organizing project materials, coordinating vendors, and managing supplies for public engagement events
  • Support project managers in client meetings by taking notes and distributing meeting minutes
  • Provide task-oriented support such as expense tracking, progress reports, document management, meeting scheduling, project milestones, and communication to ensure smooth project operations
  • Coordinate travel and presentation materials for team members attending site visits, community events, and client meetings
  • Coordinate abstracts and speaking opportunities for business development and information sharing events like conferences and professional organization events
  • Maintain the Healthy Communities project database, marketing materials, and project image library
  • Coordinate with company webmaster to monitor and update Healthy Communities content and projects featured on the RK&K website


Required Skills and Experience



  • Minimum of four (4) years of professional office administration experience, ideally in a fast-paced, high task volume environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.), with the ability to quickly adapt to other digital tools
  • Strong attention to detail: ability to provide copy editing and proofing for report documents, flyers, public engagement boards, and memos
  • Ability to handle sensitive information while adhering to privacy and confidentiality standards
  • Excellent communication skills: Able to clearly and professionally interact with team members, community stakeholders, and project partners
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage personal workload, and forecast next steps in project support


Preferred Skills and Experience



  • Associate's degree or higher in a relevant field (such as Business Administration, Public Administration, Planning, Design, or Sustainability)
  • Experience in landscape architecture, urban planning, or civil engineering environments, particularly those with a focus on public space design, green infrastructure, and public engagement
  • Strong skills in database management, project tracking, budget management, and labor allocation
  • Experience with Deltek, ProjectWise or other project and labor management software
