In this position, you will collaborate with applications engineers to design and deliver equipment that enhances industrial process efficiency. Serving as the primary customer-facing liaison between the Leybold factory and our clients, you will educate partners on the latest advancements in vacuum technology and how they can elevate their production capabilities.

Main Responsibilities:

• Split time evenly between the home office and on-site visits to some of the world's most advanced factories, educating engineers and management teams on vacuum technology-a technically complex and impactful subject.

• Promote Leybold products by designing and proposing equipment upgrade solutions to an assigned account base within a geographic region. Focus areas include industrial markets such as metallurgy and materials, architectural glass, energy and energy physics, food production, space and rocket manufacturing, aerospace, automotive and electric vehicles, freeze-drying, silicon carbide, high-tech ceramics, and more.

• Develop and execute a strategic vision to grow business within the region, targeting both existing clients and new opportunities for Leybold products and services.

• Deliver exceptional customer experiences through expert technical support and product selection guidance.

• Represent Leybold at trade shows, seminars, and training sessions to stay informed on industry trends, competitive offerings, and value-added services.

• Maintain company property-including vehicle, computer, office equipment, demo/loaner products, and consignment stock-both personally and at customer sites.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or science, or equivalent technical experience in an engineering-related role.

• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently from a home office environment.
• Familiarity with mechanical, vacuum, and fluid systems is a strong plus.
• Willingness to travel regionally up to 50% of the time.
• Strong proficiency in PC applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Valid driver's license required.

Compensation:

The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee's primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on everyone's qualifications.

Location Based Pay Ranges:

$55,406 - $76,478 in this state: NY

$54,486 - $75,558 in this state: CT

$54,486 - $75,558 in this state: MA

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this role, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions. Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles is expected. Occasionally, the employee may work in high or precarious locations and encounter toxic or caustic chemicals, electrical hazards, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is typically loud.

Physical Requirements:
This role requires regular sitting, standing, walking, and use of stairways to access multiple floors within office buildings. The employee must be able to communicate effectively through speech and hearing. Occasional physical activities include typing, dialing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and reaching with hands and arms.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Frequent computer use is required. Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Additional Requirements:

• This position is 100% remote.
• Regional travel is required approximately 50% of the time, often involving overnight stays or multi-day trips.
