Mechanical VA/VE Engineer (onsite)

What you will do

As an Mechanical VA/VE Engineer you will work in the Air Handling Product Engineering team in York, PA that is part of the Applied Equipment Group for Johnson Controls. In this division we manufacture Air Handling equipment for Building HVAC, Data Center cooling and Food processing. You will have the opportunity to research and propose new technologies, materials, and assembly methodologies to reduce product cost. These tasks require strong communication skills and the ability to clearly and consistently present information to engineering teammates, engineering managers, product management and manufacturing.This is an onsite position based in York, PA. Candidates must be commuting distance to York, or able to relocate. We are only considering Permanent Residents or US Citizens at this time.

How you will do it

• Applies extensive use of basic statistical analysis and other regression tools.

• Providing technical direction to engineers, drafters and technicians on specific work assignments.

• Leads multi- functional project teams to ensure projects are completed according to schedule.

• Conceptualize mechanical design changes, in the mode of finding process improvements and championing implementation.

• Crafts cases that clearly show the proposed ideas and savings, while maintaining a cost reduction backlog.

• Proficient at extrapolating ideas into product requirements and applies the philosophy of concurrent engineering with manufacturing processes

• Proficient at the creation of and compliance to procedures for the development of mechanical designs. Defines and interprets design specifications.

What we look for
Required

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering

• 1-3 years of professional experience

• Ability to troubleshoot, collaborate and brainstorm with other team members

• Has a broad analytical perspective that leverages the collective knowledge of the organization.

• Experience working in a manufacturing environment

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $67,000 - $95,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, andabilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)
