Pediatric Cardiologist (MD/DO)

Inova Children's Cardiology and the Inova Children's Heart Center are seeking a full-time Pediatric Cardiologist to support and expand our Maryland-based practice. This physician will collaborate closely with Heart Center leadership to establish and grow a strong clinical presence in our Maryland locations, including Shady Grove and Frederick, which serve communities adjacent to Northern Virginia.

The successful candidate will join an exceptional team of board-certified pediatric cardiologists and cardiovascular surgeons who are deeply committed to collaboration, teamwork, and delivering outstanding care to patients and their families. The Inova Children's Heart Center includes 19 pediatric cardiologists across multiple subspecialties, including interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, advanced cardiac imaging, fetal cardiology, adult congenital heart disease, general cardiology, dedicated cardiac intensivists, and congenital cardiovascular surgeons.

The selected candidate will interpret advanced noninvasive cardiac imaging studies and will have opportunities to participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical research, and the education of medical students and pediatric residents.

Pediatric Cardiologist Job Responsibilities:

• Inova Children's Heart Center is a comprehensive team, including congenital cardiac surgery, outpatient cardiology, fetal cardiology, non-invasive cardiology, adult congenital cardiology, fetal cardiology, diagnostic and interventional catheterization, and electrophysiology.
• Responsibilities include outpatient general pediatric cardiology and inpatient service, including Cardiology Ward/Consult service and/or Cardiology Stepdown team.
• Flexibility, strong communication and collaborative skills are key.
• This position will work with the Chief of Pediatric Cardiology and the leadership of the Inova Children's Heart Center to execute yearly personal and programmatic goals focused on the fundamentals of extraordinary care: Safety, quality, patient experiences, access, and stewardship.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited institution. Board eligible or board certified in Pediatric Cardiology.
• Experience: successful completion of Pediatric residency program.
• Licensure: Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Virginia.
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) upon start, ACLS, PALS (when appropriate)
• Payer Credentialing: Ability to successfully complete the credentialing process by third-party payors and ability to enrolled as a CMS Medicare/Medicaid payor
• Medical Staff Credentialing: Successful completion of credentialing for Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges sufficient to perform all required services
