Assistant Manager Promo Ops

Key Responsibilities:




  • Drive growth and brand awareness as the sales and service rep for MLS team accounts both on a soccer operations and equipment side as well as the marketing side
  • Direct the MLS Event product management including line planning with the product team, ordering with demand planning, execution through adidas DC's, and onsite at the various MLS events.
  • Monitor Brand Ops inventory as it relates to the soccer business.
  • Manage the PO process to ensure product is purchased within the appropriate timelines.
  • Manage and communicate in regular cadence assigned MLS team's budgets for apparel, footwear, and hardgoods.
  • Utilize strong business acumen and retail math to drive the top and bottom line number assigned for MLS and soccer team sales.
  • Provide strong sell in presence with each account by providing tailored product assortment information and support materials to each of the accounts to soccer operations and marketing departments.
  • Manage the footwear and Official Match Ball.
  • Manage the Agron orders for teams' accessories.
  • Become versed in adidas DC's and Agron systems to provide operational excellence through our DC's.
  • Provide and maintain a high level of service to each account.
  • Manage Brand Ops Specialist, including myBest goals, team workload, and performance reviews
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with accounts through team visits and account management.
  • Always act in the best interest of adidas North America to improve relations and resolve issues.
  • Manage all credits, claims and other account issues to resolution.
  • Delivery all required reports and document requests on-time.
  • Produce accurate and reliable quarterly forecasts on or before deadlines
  • Manage the process to produce all orders by the requested ship date.
  • Must be extremely professional and able to handle stressful situations while remaining calm.
  • Conduct assigned special projects associated with MLS and Brand Ops.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:




  • Strong computer skills (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, Word, Smartsheet)
  • Personal skills: Organized, Outgoing, Personable, Flexible, Able to Multi-task
  • Ability to work with, and manage, a large number of accounts on a consistent basis, and to sell the appropriate adidas products to these designated accounts.
  • Merchandising and planning skills, and the ability to apply them by connecting the merchandise plan into forecast, then executing accordingly.
  • Ability to apply financial data to make decisions and influence outcomes. This includes margines, retail math, forecast/projections, probability and statistical inferences, fractions, percentages, ratios, etc.
  • Ability to portray a confident and wining attitude in challenging business interactions.
  • Must be results-oriented and have demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence outcomes.
  • Ability to lay out practical and logical assortment plans based on inventory turn and sell through.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interface at all levels of a business vis phone, written communication and in person.
  • Proven ability to delivery a high level of customer service, including the ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Ability to diplomatically fight for the brand to create win/win resolution with teams.
  • Ability to effectively manage your time and work against business deadlines.

  • Ability to read, analyse, and interpret complex documents.

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor degree from a four-year college or university and a minimum of three years related customer services or sales experience required. Athletic industry experience preferred. Field sales experience preferred.

For work requiring a high degree of collaboration or an in-person presentation, in-office attendance is required even on Friday. The working location of this position is Indianapolis , Indiana.
