Job Summary
Provides direct supervision typically to professionals or skilled technical employees. Functions as advisor to unit and administration. Analyzes and resolves problems, interprets policies (e.g., fiscal management, HR, contracts and grants, resource management in defined areas) and demonstrates solid subject matter knowledge. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action. Supervises staff to assure accountability and stewardship of department resources (operational, financial, and human) in compliance with departmental goals and objectives.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
        
         - Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training 
 - Advanced experience in engineering, or related field, and/or equivalent experience with project management, scheduling concepts, methods and software.
 - Experience utilizing photometric testing equipment to measure illuminance, luminance, color quality, lumen output, candlepower distribution, and other pertinent lighting metrics to evaluate the lighting system performance.
 - Experience preparing construction specifications for energy efficiency projects and contracting with various trades to implement energy-efficiency projects in commercial and industrial applications.
 - Experience preparing technical papers and status reports summarizing research results.
 - Knowledge of state and federal energy codes.
 - Skills to develop unique photometric experiments and protocols that characterize unique lighting systems.
 - Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience.

Work Environment
