About the Role

We're looking for a strategic leader to join our team as Subrogation, Manager. In this role, you will provide operational leadership for the subrogation department. This role is responsible for motivating and developing team members, achieving business performance goals, and strengthening
client relationships through high-quality service delivery. The Manager partners closely with clients to understand their evolving needs, ensures seamless day-to-day operations, and identifies opportunities to enhance overall recovery performance. Success in this position requires extensive experience in the subrogation industry, sound judgment, strong communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to lead and inspire high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do

* Oversee a department of 30+ professionals, including Supervisors and Team Leads, ensuring consistent performance and alignment with service level agreements (SLAs)

* Drive daily operational cadence through planning, forecasting, and reporting

* Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure recovery and efficiency targets are met or exceeded

* Ensure compliance with internal controls, client agreements, and regulatory requirements

* Provide clear direction, coaching, and mentorship to direct and indirect reports

* Support succession planning and team member career development through structured performance conversations

* Champion a culture of accountability, recognition, and collaboration

* Lead process optimizations initiatives, leveraging data and technology to improve cycle time and recovery outcomes

* Establish quality control mechanisms and ensure consistent process documentation

* Serve as the operational point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on subrogation performance and escalations

* Build and maintain strong client relationships by providing transparency, responsiveness, and proactive communication

* Model and reinforce Element's values through leadership behaviors that promote engagement, trust, and integrity

* Inspire a team-oriented environment that encourages innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Basic Qualifications

* Minimum of 5 years of experience managing direct reports

* Minimum of 5 years of experience in the subrogation industry

* Process management and cross-functional leadership experience

* Proven ability to navigate complex, fast-changing environments

* Demonstrated client empathy and relationship management skills, with experience handling escalations and driving issue resolution

* Strong background in customer service and operations management

Preferred Qualifications

* Education: College/University degree

* CSRP (Certified Subrogation Recovery)

* Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification or higher

Location: Owings Mills, MD

The hiring base salary range for this position is $75,500 - $103,800 annually. Actual compensation within this range will be dependent upon the individual's knowledge, skills, experience, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. Please note that the disclosed salary range is solely for candidates hired to perform work within this geographic location. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location.
