Description

  • Assures all accounting procedures in the department are strictly adhered to and in compliance with Credit Union and regulatory policies and procedures, makes recommendations for improvements to the process, and assists the Controller with regulatory audits.
  • Assists the department in researching GAAP accounting issues and FASB pronouncements and document findings.
  • Assist in the preparation of the corporate operating budget.
  • Prepare and process a variety of accounting transactions following established accounting practices and generates reports within established deadlines.
  • Reconcile general ledger activity which includes investigating unreconciled items, researching discrepancies, making recommendations, and correcting journal vouchers to the general ledger.
  • Prepares month-end reconciliations along with providing documentation and explanations as outlined in procedures within the established deadlines.
  • Prepare various month-end financial reports.
  • Responsible for Members Insurance Agency accounting and reporting.
  • Responsible for Mortgage Accounting.
  • Prepare the posting vouchers for payroll at the end of each pay period and monthly accruals.
  • Prepares and distributes the Branch Accounting reporting.
  • Assists with balancing issues and/or problems as they arise within the accounting or branch teams.
  • Maintain current and complete procedural documentation of assigned duties, files, and maintains various accounting records and reports.
  • Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience
Must be experienced in preparing general ledger transactions and posting general ledger entries as well as general ledger reconciliation experience in a professional business environment, financial or banking preferred. (required)
2 - 5 years: Related work experience required in a professional business environment, with financial institution experience preferred. (required)
