The Senior Software Engineer will provide software development and technical leadership support to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The role includes supporting flight test telemetry processing, software tool development, system modeling, and post-mission analysis within MDA's Digital Test, Training, and Evaluation (DTTE) organization. The position requires an experienced software engineer with a strong background in C#, C++, and object-oriented software design to support mission-critical systems and analysis efforts.
Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the technical and software lead supporting MDA DTTE efforts.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance software applications and analytical tools for telemetry data processing and post-mission analysis.
  • Design and implement object-oriented software solutions using C#, C++, Visual Basic, and Java for Windows and Linux environments.
  • Manage and lead a small team of software engineers and analysts, including performance reviews, goal setting, and technical direction.
  • Conduct data analysis of flight test telemetry and other mission data to support MDA test and evaluation objectives.
  • Provide technical leadership for software sustainment, integration, and modernization initiatives.
  • Deploy to range sites to perform telemetry decommutation, processing, and analysis in support of live test events.
  • Interface with government and contractor teams to define requirements, provide updates, and ensure technical accuracy and mission success.
Required Qualifications:
  • Active Secret security clearance.
  • 20+ years of experience (or 12+ with MS) in software engineering, systems analysis, or related technical field.
  • Proficiency in C#, C/C++, and Visual Basic with strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
  • Experience with telemetry processing, modeling and simulation, or missile defense system software.
  • Strong understanding of Windows and Linux operating environments.
  • Proven leadership experience managing small technical teams.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate in a fast-paced environment.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting Missile Defense Agency (MDA) test and evaluation activities.
  • Knowledge of DTTE, telemetry analysis, and mission data processing systems.
  • Familiarity with MDA system modeling, flight test planning, and simulation frameworks.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office automation, data visualization, and post-mission reporting tools.
