Pavion and our family of companies are seeking a talented and motivated Fire Alarm Installation Technician to join our fire business unit.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Install, service, maintain, troubleshoot and program fire alarm systems, initiating devices, notification appliances, and control panels.
  • Perform system start-up, testing, and verification in accordance with NFPA 72 and local AHJ requirements.
  • Interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, and electrical schematics to ensure accurate system layout and installation.
  • Pull, terminate, and label cable to company and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with project managers, other trades, and subcontractors to ensure timely project completion.
  • Troubleshoot and repair fire alarm systems as needed during and after installation.
  • Complete required documentation including system test forms, as-built drawings, and material lists.
  • Maintain compliance with safety procedures and use of PPE on all job sites.
  • Represent the company professionally with customers, inspectors, and general contractors.
  • Participate in manufacturer and NICET training to stay current on codes and technology. Participate in company on-call program.


Basic Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience installing and servicing fire alarm systems (commercial or industrial settings preferred).
  • State of MA Class D Low Voltage license.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Capable of obtaining a Certificate of clearance.
  • Working knowledge of various systems.
  • Understanding of NFPA 70 (NEC) and NFPA 72 (National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code).
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and test equipment.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders or lifts when required
  • Strong communication and customer service skills


Preferred Qualifications:



  • NICET Level I or II certification in Fire Alarm Systems (preferred, not required).



Salary: $40 - 60 per hour depending on experience,
