SUMMARY

The Senior Manager, Media, Telecom & Advertising Analysis is critical role in Spectrum Reach's newly formed Growth Team responsible for analyzing key market trends to inform near and long term business and revenue growth strategies. This role will facilitate the access to 3rd party research, monitor key trends in the advertising ecosystem and provide strategic insights. The ideal candidate has an understanding of the media, technology and advertising ecosystem, is analytical with critical thinking skills, and possesses a natural curiousity to learn.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring 3rd party research and insights reports about the advertising industry that may impact Spectrum Reach's future business strategies.
  • Independent and primary research and analysis of companies in the industry (press, earning reports, analyst reports, etc.) that can provide intelligent insights to inform business and demand strategies.
  • Definition and execution (directly or via 3rd party) of custom research to support business and market growth strategy development
    Coordination of research requests to internal and external groups to ensure prioritization as needed

Develop and update market trends and insights reports

  1. Monitor key market trends from consumer behavor to technology that impact the monetization of media and data in the advertising and martech ecosystem.
  2. Analyze key trends to provide insights to the Growth team to inform business strategies including opportunities to find new revenue, improve profitability, or explore new markets.
  3. Publish insights on a regular basis to ensure the Growth team and senior leaders are apprised of the most critical trends and competitive threats impacting our business.
  4. Liason with Charter Corporate research groups to maintain access and promote relevant research reports and tools for use by Spectrum Reach and the Growth team.

Conduct Custom or Independent Analysis

  1. Partner with the business and market growth team leaders to identify focus areas that need independent analysis which may include diving deep on a specific company, vertical, or revenue line.
  2. Define the required research goals and key questions. Then identify the best research vehicle or source to conduct the analysis which may include partnering with Reach business intelligence team, existing research departments, leveraging external parties and/or conducting independent, primary research.
  3. Partner with the Product Insights group to prioritize competitive product analysis in support of the Growth's team's business and market strategy development.

Insights & Impact Analysis

  1. Contributed to the development of business plans and cases by drafting, editing and/or writing the market trends and relevant implications that are driving the rationale for a new strategy or business case.
  2. Present key analysis to cross functional senior leaders in support of the Growth team's efforts to facilitate dynamic conversations on the impacts and opportunities informed by market analysis.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong communication (verbal and written) skills, including presentation development.
  • Ability to read and interpret earnings reports and first party research/reading of press releases, trade articles, industry events
  • Ability synthesize data and research (financial and word) to determine impactful take-aways
  • 5+ years of experience in strategy or consulting, ideally with a focus on media or ad sales.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience developing executive level insights based on analysis
  • Clear and persuasive communication skills, including the ability to create and deliver presentations for senior leadership
  • A proven track record of translating complex data into clear, actionable insights

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree required (unless commiserate industry experience)

Marketing, Data Analytics or Business focus is ideal

RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE

Experience on a business or corporate strategy team 2+ years

PREFERRED SKILLS

Ability to read financial filings and interpret key business strategies

The base pay for this position generally is between $120,720.00 and $214,320.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
