Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is looking for a dedicated Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBO) Registered Nurse (RN) to join the team. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBO) Registered Nurse (RN) Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the provision of comprehensive care to patients requiring hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
- Performs a comprehensive assessment by interpreting multiple, sometimes conflicting data and synthesizing the interrelationships of the data to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintains cleanliness and maintenance of the hyperbaric chambers and environment as per established UHMS protocols. Conducts and coordinates daily, weekly and monthly, and semi-annual chamber maintenance procedures. Maintains records of any repairs, malfunctions or problems related to chambers.
- Provides the highest quality patient care through collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team, patients, and families.
- Serves as a subject-matter- expert to peers, physicians, and leaders on complex clinical issues in hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Serves as a clinical resource and serves as a mentor to health care team members and leads in decision-making and problem solving
- Supports clinical hyperbaric facility accreditation.
- Assists with pre-authorization of hyperbaric oxygen treatments.
- Leads quality improvement initiatives related to practice.
- Serves as hyperbaric safety director as needed by the department.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors Degree in Nursing
- Experience: 3 years as Registered Nurse
- Certification: Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support from the American Heart Association; Certified Hyperbaric Registered Nurse (CHRN) or Certified Hyperbaric Technician Certification (CHTC) within 18 months of hire; Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience: Hyperbaric oxygen therapy as a RN
