The Sr. Food Safety & Quality Technician will be responsible for ensuring quality in the plant environment. You will provide quality testing, analysis, and review to ensure production quality. You will also support manufacturing teams in quality system training, record-keeping, and maintenance of FSQA practices. Additionally, you will provide expertise on FSQA subjects and promote programs for the plant.
A Day in the Life... * Responsible for providing assistance to the Quality Manager and the Quality Engineer with all aspects of monitoring and analysis. * Performs the tasks/functions of a Quality Technician while providing leadership to the technician team to assure regulatory, company standards, and quality programs are in-place and implemented within a teamwork environment working 24/7. * Works closely with operations and performance excellence, using applicable SPC tools and other electronic systems, to drive daily problem solving and process improvement. * Has a drive for development in Quality Systems both functional and documentation (electronic) and the ability to lead in quality training, record keeping, and maintenance of the food safety and quality practices within the plant. * Working closely with the QA Manager and Quality Engineer, this position pursues resolution of food safety and quality concerns. * Actively supports and promotes food safety and quality program initiatives within the plant environment. What We Are Looking For: * High School Diploma or GED required * Bachelor's Degree or Associates Degree in Science related field preferred * 1 - 3 years prior production/manufacturing experience OR 2+ years relevant lab technician experience * Food/beverage industry experience a plus * Requires good mathematical ability to perform quality related calculations, good analytical skills, and effective interpersonal communication skills to work constructively in a team environment * Requires good computer, Word processing, and email skills * Must be detail oriented and have the ability to meet deadlines and accomplish tasks accurately while working under pressure * Ability to recognize trends, situations and risks to product quality or food safety, and to timely and properly communicate those findings * HACCP, PCQI, and Internal Auditing Certification preferred Education: High School Diploma or GED (Required) Bachelor's or University Degree (Preferred)
