Job Title: Landscaper/ Groundskeeper/ Laborer

Shift hours: Day Shift - 7:00am-3:00pm
Note: Must have Driver's License
Job Description:
- Operates lawn equipment such as mowers, edger's, blowers, fertilizer spreaders, and clippers.
- Mows grass, pulls weeds, picks up trash/debris, sweeps sand/gravel, digs trenches, and cleans drainage ditches
- Performs fence repairs and installs fencing as required.
- Operates motor vehicles mowers and equipment on airport ramps, taxiways, runways, and safety areas under the direction of team leaders.
- Assists airport staff during emergencies involving aircraft or vehicle accidents, inclement weather conditions, and reports problems to supervisor
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum requirements:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. with 6 (six) months experience in manual labor, lifting, landscape maintenance, and general knowledge of hand tools.
- Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License.
- Must be able to pass Federal fingerprint-based criminal background check.
- Must attend FAA Security Standards Class and successfully pass a test with a minimum score of 70.
Preferences:
- Previous experience in landscaping, mowing, and labor-intensive duties.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Knowledge of tools and equipment required to complete the above tasks.
- Ability to learn to safely operate and control vehicles on the airfield, ramp, taxiways, and runways.
- Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English and to understand written and oral directions.
- Ability to hear, speak, and understand conversation in English in a normal tone of voice.
- Ability to see and read letters, numbers, characters, or symbols and identify colors.
- Ability to learn, understand, and remember normal tasks.
- Ability to use small hand tools which require the use of hands, wrist, and fingers.
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions day or night, including very hot and humid weather.
- Ability to perform hard manual labor in all weather conditions.
- Ability to lift large pieces of equipment while bending and/or squatting.
- Ability to walk and work on unstable soil conditions.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to work various shifts as assigned.
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs.
- Ability to lift 50 pound.
