Job Description




As a Security Guard - Unarmed Shelter Badge Patrol in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more.

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to deter security-related incidents by conducting routine patrols and maintaining a visible presence throughout the shelter location. You will be responsible for monitoring assigned areas, assisting guests or residents, and responding to situations with professionalism and care. What You'll Do:

    Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner within the shelter environment.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the shelter and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits, helping to maintain order within the location.
  • Observe and report any unusual or suspicious activity promptly to the appropriate personnel or authorities.
  • Maintain a visible Allied Universal presence to help to deter potential disruptions and provide reassurance to residents and staff.
  • Complete required reports and documentation thoroughly and accurately as part of daily duties.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • A minimum of 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
