Department OverviewThe Motorola Solutions Antenna/EME team is a global leader, operating at the critical intersection of advanced wireless technology, RF safety, and international compliance standards. Our staff hold leadership roles in influential standards bodies like IEC, IEEE, and CENELEC. You'll be working alongside published researchers in RF dosimetry, densitometry, and cutting-edge antenna technologies. Job Description

We're looking for a highly motivated graduate or ambitious undergraduate student to join us in shaping the future of Motorola Solutions' expertise. This is a hands-on, research-driven internship where you will:

  • Develop Expertise: Gain practical experience in the full cycle of RF safety and antenna R&D, spanning theoretical analysis, computational modeling (dosimetry), and experimental characterization.

  • Contribute to Compliance: Learn the rigorous process of product compliance testing using state-of-the-art methods.

  • Design and Characterize: Assist in antenna design, analysis, and measurement using industry-leading equipment.

You'll be working in the Motorola Solutions Antenna/EME Lab, which features state-of-the-art antenna testing equipment, sophisticated SAR measurement systems, powerful RF instrumentation, and advanced computational resources/simulation tools. You will tackle complex, real-world challenges under the direct mentorship of leading researchers in the field.

Required Background

  • Strong theoretical foundation in:
    • Applied Electromagnetics (essential)

    • RF Circuit Theory

    • Higher-level Mathematics and Physics

  • Demonstrated competency in coding/scripting (e.g., Python, MATLAB) for analysis and modeling.

Basic Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a closely related field.
