Strategic Sourcing Manager

Job Description:

The Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies to secure the best value for the company's goods and services, going beyond simple purchasing to drive cost savings, mitigate risks, and build strong supplier relationships.

Responsibilities:

* Strategy development: Evaluate current sourcing procedures and collaborate with senior management and internal departments to define and implement robust sourcing strategies. This includes performing spend analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and ensuring alignment with company objectives.

* Supplier management:

• Conduct in-depth market analysis to find, evaluate, and select new suppliers.

• Lead the competitive bidding process (e.g., Request for Proposal) to identify and establish preferred suppliers.

• Negotiate and structure favorable contracts regarding costs, terms of service, and quality standards.

• Manage and monitor supplier performance, conducting regular business reviews and developing improvement plans.

* Risk management and compliance:

• Identify potential risks within the supply chain, such as financial instability or potential disruptions, and implement mitigation strategies.

• Ensure all sourcing and procurement activities adhere to company policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards.

* Cost and data analysis:

• Calculate and track procurement costs to develop and report on cost-reduction strategies.

• Utilize data analytics to evaluate spending patterns, forecast future needs, and inform strategic decisions.

* Project and people management:

• Lead cross-functional teams on sourcing projects, ensuring effective execution and communication.

• Foster strong internal relationships with various departments, including finance, operations, and product development, to understand their needs.

Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business, or related field

Experience Level: 5-7+ years of procurement or sourcing experience in the food manufacturing industry. Demonstrate experience sourcing ingredients, packaging, or food-grade materials.
