Spectra Tech is looking for an Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator for Janesville, WI.

Job Description:

The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the workplace remains safe and compliant with all environmental, health, and safety regulations. This includes developing safety programs, performing inspections, delivering training, and investigating incidents to protect employees and the environment.

Responsibilities:

* Program development and implementation: Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs and policies to comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including those from OSHA, EPA, and other agencies.

* Audits and inspections: Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards. This includes inspecting workstations, equipment, and facility-wide operations.

* Training and education: Coordinate and conduct EHS training programs for all employees, including new hire orientation and ongoing education on topics such as hazardous materials handling, emergency procedures, and equipment safety.

* Incident investigation and reporting: Lead or assist with incident and accident investigations to determine root causes and develop corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.

* Record-keeping and reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all EHS activities, including safety incidents, training sessions, audits, and compliance documentation. Prepare and submit reports to management and regulatory agencies as required.

* Waste management: Oversee the proper handling and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.

* Emergency response: Help develop and maintain emergency response plans and coordinate drills to ensure the organization is prepared for accidents, fires, spills, and other crises.

* Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with other departments, such as operations, HR, and facility maintenance, to integrate EHS considerations into daily business operations and promote a strong safety culture

Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health or a related field.

Experience Level:

* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in designing and implementing safety programs, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.

* Preferred certifications: OSHA 501, CSP

* Excellent knowledge of OSHA CFRs and federal, state, and local regulatory standards applicable to general industry.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. * Skilled in making verbal and written presentations and communicating effectively with others
