Job Description:Primary Responsibility The Lab Coordinator – Healthcare Simulation provides professional coordination of the clinical simulation laboratory for nursing and allied health programs’ implementation of student learning experiences. The Lab Coordinator – Healthcare Simulation manages simulation laboratory operations including equipment function, supply availability, and faculty and student support during laboratory learning experiences. The Lab Coordinator – Healthcare Simulation collaborates with the Dean of Nursing and faculty of nursing and allied health programs to evaluate laboratory operations effectiveness and planning for future needs. Pre-requisites for Position (Qualifications Standards) Education and experience sufficient for the rigors of the position. Examples of qualifications include: Associate degree in nursing or healthcare related field required, bachelor’s degree preferred and one or more years of practice in a healthcare-related field required. Current CPR Certification as a Healthcare Provider required. Practice as an educator in a healthcare-related field preferred. One or more years of experience in a teaching or simulation laboratory in an academic or healthcare setting, including organizing or managing healthcare supplies and laboratory equipment including human simulators, audiovisual and other complex technology, strongly preferred. Knowledge and expertise in the use of simulation experiences in a nursing lab environment, as well as the ability to create and evaluate simulation experiences for students preferred. Special Skills or abilities related to position: Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Excellent organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving skills. Must be able to demonstrate a high level of problem-solving and decision-making abilities to respond to student, clinical instructor, and clinical faculty issues. Welcoming. Innovative. Bilingual (English/Spanish) or conversational language abilities preferred. Hiring range = $77,201.85 - $85,779.83 annual salary depending upon a combination of education and experience. CMC utilizes a wage progression compensation model that accounts for a candidate’s skill and experience. Although a salary range is listed, salary will be set commensurate with the successful candidate’s qualifications and in compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. Supervision Received This position reports to the Dean, School of Nursing. Supervisory Responsibility This position may serve as lead or supervise other staff. Special Conditions of Employment Successful completion of a background check including motor vehicles records check will be required. Incumbents in this position will adhere to all safety and compliance policies of Colorado Mountain College while performing all duties assigned. Travel, evening, and weekend work may be required based on position responsibilities. Working Conditions This position requires constant sitting, occasional walking, standing and driving; occasional handling objects, pushing/pulling; frequent reaching with hands/arms, and use of finger movements; occasional lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling objects up to 50 lbs. Constant written and oral communication and the ability to reason and analyze and perform calculations occasionally.
