Clerk III Temporary/Hourly

Department: University Employee Health Clinic, University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics
Schedule: This position will work variable hours between 7 AM and 5 PM, M-F. 0-40 hours per week. Under a temporary appointment, you are limited to a maximum of 780 hours of work on a fiscal year basis. Rotations: Start time may vary based on clinic needs.

Position Summary:
Under general supervision, performs and coordinates clerical work such as examining and evaluating data according to established guidelines requiring knowledge of both assigned and related work areas. Duties include the use of personal computers, tablets, and a variety of software and conventional office equipment.

1. Clerical duties of checking patients into UIHC and assigning appropriate surveys
2. Data entry as assigned
3. Answering telephones at front desk as patients arrive
4. Provide support to patients filling out ReadySet on tablets/computer workstations.

5.Respirator Mask Fittings

5. Additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

Any combination of related clerical office experience, related undergraduate education, and/or post high school clerical training that is the equivalent to two years of full-time employment.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Excellent communication skills
• Public contact/customer service experience
• At least 50 words per minute typing
• 6 months of clerical experience
• Medical terminology knowledge
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
