VP Undergraduate Studies Job Description
Mizzou 101 is a required freshman seminar focused on student success strategies and student development. It is proposed as a course to help all first-year students make a successful transition to Mizzou. The Student Support Coordinator will manage and support the peer learning assistants for the Success Strategies course (within Mizzou 101) that is offered to help all first-year students make a successful transition to college life. This course provides opportunities to explore strategies for academic success relevant to first-year students through discussion, activities, reading, writing, teamwork and community service. The Student Support Coordinator will also support student Peer Learning Assistants who will be supporting the Freshmen Interest Group (FIG) Proseminars. The Student Support Coordinator will manage and support the Peer Learning Assistants for Mizzou 101 and Freshmen Interest Group (FIG) Proseminars. These courses are offered to help first-year students make a successful transition into college life by exploring strategies for academic success, building community, and engaging in high-impact learning environments. Peer Learning Assistants (PLAs) serve as mentors and leaders both in and out of the classroom. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and manage student PLAs, including:
Collaborate on production and editing of training materials for PLAs, instructors, and faculty partners to facilitate consistency across sections of Mizzou 101 and Freshmen Interest Group Proseminars. Utilize student check-ins during the semester as well as the Early Alert System to support the success of students enrolled in Mizzou 101 or FIG Proseminar. Familiarize peer learning assistants to all student support systems at MU (tutoring, student organizations, etc.) so they can in turn connect students they are supporting with these resources. Participate in the assessment and evaluation of the PLA, Mizzou 101, and FIG programs, including drafting and presenting reports as needed. Serve as an instructor for Mizzou 101 as needed. Participate in campus and divisional programs that are designed to support student success. Other duties as assigned Shift

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary. Anticipated Hiring Range
