Wage Rage: $90,000 Location: Minnesota, will travel to locations Position Summary The Performance Gear Manager ensures full participation by all communities through the prototyping, research and delivery of standardized gear and hardware. This role gathers user feedback to continually enhance the team experience, develops new forms of competition, and contributes to research and development efforts that advance new models of engagement in senior living. Position Functions and Responsibilities The Spark Performance League Gear Manager ensures full participation by all communities through the design, curation and delivery of standardized gear and hardware. This role gathers user feedback to continuously improve team experience while developing new forms of competition and contributing to research and development efforts that advance new models of engagement in senior living.
- Prototype and refine standardized gear and hardware that promotes participation across all communities.
- Ensure all equipment is intuitive, safe, and accessible.
- Gather user feedback from Spark Performance League teams to continually improve experiences.
- Test and evaluate prototypes in communities before scaling.
- Contribute to research and development of new Performances.
- Document and share learnings to build a growing knowledge base for innovation.
- Train and certify community staff and seniors to make minor repairs and adaptations of gear for safety and sustainability.
- Upgrade or adapt existing equipment to extend lifespan, improve functionality and maximize return on investment.
- Oversee the logistical systems for distribution, storage, and replacement of gear across a growing number of communities.
- Standardizing designs to enable outsourcing manufacturing for scale.
- Participate in the Really Big Show and develop a weekly "Shop Talk" program for distribution on the Opticon network.
- Oversee other enterprise project duties as assigned.
- Support Lifespark's quest to help elders age magnificently.
Qualifications Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must possess a working knowledge of Spark and its associated principles and practices.
- Proven ability to develop budgets for prototyping and production of Performance gear and deliver on-time and on budget.
- Knowledge of person-centered care practices, methods and implementation strategies such as the Eden Alternative
- Experience working in a commercial prototyping environment including CAD/CAM integration and the maintenance and repair of the required tools and equipment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- At least three years of experience using advanced manufacturing tools including 3D printers and 3 axis CNC cutting machines.
- Experience effectively balancing multiple-high needs tasks and delivering timely results
- Proven ability to develop prototype 3D models using CAD software and develop G-Code output from CAM software. Experience with Fusion 360 is a plus.
- Demonstrated resourcefulness and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Resourceful self-starter with demonstrated ability to execute project plans
- Proficient with technology and relevant applications: Microsoft Office, calendaring, Wifi, Internet, etc.
- Must receive a "not disqualified" criminal background result from Department of Human Services and may not be on the OIG exclusions list
- Current driver's license
- Relationship building; easily approachable, outgoing, friendly, warm (on phone/in person)
- Personal resiliency: emotional/intellectual flexibility, ability to remain calm, focused, and maintain objectivity
- Productivity: skills in prioritization, planning, organizing, and managing details
- Analytical and strategic thinking: seeing the big picture, using data to identify opportunities and close gaps
- Be willing to travel to communities

Work Environment
- Willingness to work beyond normal working hours and in other positions temporarily when necessary.
- The work is based at the Lifespark offices and requires regular visits to the communities being managed by Lifespark. The environment is a professional business office environment, well lighted, clean, and hazard-free. The Design studio hosts manufacturing tools and equipment as well as work tables and storage for raw materials.
