Overview

We are seeking an associate with two to five years of experience to join our Technology Transactions team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced advisors, supporting both established and cutting-edge companies in shaping their IP strategies and facilitating key agreements.


Responsibilities

* Draft, review, and negotiate collaboration, partnering, licensing, and other commercial agreements for companies at any stage of their life cycle (including emerging company/venture capital clients).
* Work closely with technology companies to provide expert guidance on product strategy, development, and market positioning.
* Assist in navigating IP and technology aspects of complex M&A transactions and venture capital financings.
* Conduct research and analysis on diverse technologies, including AI, fintech, autonomous vehicles, edtech, renewable energy, AR/VR, cybersecurity, biotechnology, and digital health.


Qualifications

* Must have at least two years of legal experience in IP and technology transactions
* Strong interest in working on technology transactions for M&A matters and emerging company/venture capital clients
* Excellent research, analytical, drafting and communication skills
* Commitment to excellence and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
* JD is required
* Admission to the state bar of the office in which the candidate would be located

Compensation and Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is between $235,000 and $365,000.

Orrick is committed to providing a comprehensive, competitive, and thoughtful total compensation package to our attorneys and staff, wherever they work. This compensation and benefits information is based on the Orrick's estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include, but not limited to, qualifications, relevant experience or education, particular skills or expertise, geography. Other compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, which would be determined by Firm and individual performance.
