Position Summary:

The Communications Specialist will provide comprehensive communications and program support to Federal staff within the Acquisition Program Management (APM) organization. This role ensures the effective coordination, tracking, and documentation of APM deliverables; management of official records; and execution of strategic communication initiatives that strengthen organizational awareness, engagement, and alignment with TSA objectives.

Responsibilities:



  • Assist Federal staff in coordinating and tracking Acquisition Program Management (APM) program documentation deliverables, which includes internal and external organizational taskers and maintenance of official final copies in TSA repositories/databases. The taskers/deliverables include but are not limited to taskers from the Office of Management and Budget, Department of Homeland Security, TSA Front Office, TSA Executive Secretariat, Enterprise Support, APM Front Office, other TSA Offices, and security technology industry representatives; Congressional inquiries; internal/external correspondence; direct replies, action/information memos; and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) taskers.
  • Manage a centralized repository of final versions of organizational files located on iShare to include, but not limited to, all files mentioned above in addition to final versions of presentations, talking points, briefings, and speeches.
  • Ensure files are coordinated and tracked in accordance with TSA policies, management directives, and records management policies.
  • Assist with the management of APM Communications mailboxes. Coordinate day-to-day taskers from mailboxes which include, but are not limited to, all taskers/deliverables identified above.
  • Assist with the management of the APM All/Federal Distribution Lists and distribute broadcast messages to the workforce. Facilitate achieving mailboxes as needed.
  • Assist the Federal staff with strategic communications and marketing initiatives by designing, formatting, editing, printing, mounting/displaying, distributing, and coordinating content with appropriate points of contact, etc., for various organizational strategic communications materials including, but not limited to, content and branding elements for website development, graphics, posters, brochures, flyers, newsletters, campaigns, broadcast messages, leadership blogs, communications-related presentations, etc., for APM.
  • Capture photos and draft language in support of APM initiatives/activities (e.g., New Hires, All Hands, Brown Bags, Special Events APM Yearbook). Assist with the maintenance of a library of vetted photos for APM marketing purposes. Provide support for APM Culture activities, APM Newsletter, APM Yearbook, APM Employee Advisory Council marketing/promotion (as needed), organizational chart design and any additional brochures, posters, flyers, campaigns, and workforce engagement initiatives.
  • Assist with the maintenance of the Communications Toolkit on iShare. Assist with documentation of APM Communications processes to include, but not limited to, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Process Guides, Quick Reference Guides, Templates, Comms POC list, etc.
  • Assist with the management of APM Comms general project plans and marketing dashboards. Collect input and prepare and/or assist with management reports.




Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Affairs, English, or a related field.



  • 3+ years of relevant professional experience supporting communications or program operations in a government or corporate environment.



  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or equivalent security clearance



  • Strong writing, editing, and content development skills with keen attention to detail.



  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint/iShare, and design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalent).



  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and coordinate across teams and stakeholders.



  • Familiarity with TSA, DHS, or other Federal agency operations is a plus.

The annual salary range for this position is $45,000.00 to $80,000.00.Actual compensation will depend on a range of factors, including but not limited to the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, certifications, location, other business and organizational needs, and applicable employment laws. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.
