Description

The Phlebotomist III- Float represents the face of the company to patients who come for health routines or life-defining health decisions.
Draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares specimens for lab testing, following established practices and procedures.
Has direct contact with patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and drawing blood skillfully, safely, and accurately.
Provides coverage at multiple locations for multiple roles.
Ensures daily activities at Patient Service Centers, Mobile, Long Term Care, and In-Office Phlebotomy are completed accurately and on time.
Demonstrates leadership behaviors with a focus on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.
May be assigned to work and direct daily activity in a doctor's office, patient service center, house call environment, long-term care, or other business needs.
Steps in for a Phlebotomist III- Float and leads one or more PSRs on site.
Acts as a coach, mentor, instructor, and resource advisor for new employees, providing effective onboarding services to new clients.
Serves as a point of contact for staff on site and provides regular input to the group lead or supervisor.
May work with high-complexity or high-volume practices requiring outstanding phlebotomy skills.
Requires advanced customer-facing skills, including verbal and written communication, problem-solving, and collaboration with multiple functions (Sales, Laboratory Testing Services, IT connectivity, Billing, and Logistics) due to specialty or complex test orders.
Capable of handling multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.

Required Education:

High school diploma or equivalent. Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred. Phlebotomy certification preferred. Required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Work Experience:

Five years phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections.

Minimum 3 years in a PSC/IOP environment preferred.

Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.

Keyboard/data entry experience.
