Description

  • The Phlebotomist III- Float represents the face of the company to patients who come for health routines or life-defining health decisions.
  • Draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares specimens for lab testing, following established practices and procedures.
  • Has direct contact with patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and drawing blood skillfully, safely, and accurately.
  • Provides coverage at multiple locations for multiple roles.
  • Ensures daily activities at Patient Service Centers, Mobile, Long Term Care, and In-Office Phlebotomy are completed accurately and on time.
  • Demonstrates leadership behaviors with a focus on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.
  • May be assigned to work and direct daily activity in a doctor's office, patient service center, house call environment, long-term care, or other business needs.
  • Steps in for a Phlebotomist III- Float and leads one or more PSRs on site.
  • Acts as a coach, mentor, instructor, and resource advisor for new employees, providing effective onboarding services to new clients.
  • Serves as a point of contact for staff on site and provides regular input to the group lead or supervisor.
  • May work with high-complexity or high-volume practices requiring outstanding phlebotomy skills.
  • Requires advanced customer-facing skills, including verbal and written communication, problem-solving, and collaboration with multiple functions (Sales, Laboratory Testing Services, IT connectivity, Billing, and Logistics) due to specialty or complex test orders.
  • Capable of handling multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.



Required Education:

High school diploma or equivalent. Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred. Phlebotomy certification preferred. Required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Work Experience:

Five years phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections.

Minimum 3 years in a PSC/IOP environment preferred.

Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.

Keyboard/data entry experience.
