IMMEDIATELY HIRING! FULL-TIME EXEMPT Opportunity

$95,000 - $105,000 salary range

SUMMARY

Under general direction, the Clinical Education Specialist oversees Clinical and Education Services activities for the local service area. Represents AMR to local committees, medical and training institutions, and other related agencies. Responsible for the creation, implementation, and tracking of education programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in recruitment by participating in area EMS classes and career days, and represent AMR with local EMS education programs to ensure integration with internship and preceptor needs.

  • Develop and implement orientation and continuing education programs, including scheduling and conducting classes, along with administering examinations.

  • Create educational processes including course objectives, examinations, and manuals for lesson plans; coordinate evaluations for paramedic school candidates and schedule continuing education programs tailored to field education needs.

  • Work collaboratively with local physician advisory groups and other CES Coordinators to standardize CES programs across service areas; serve as a clinical resource for field and management personnel.

  • Participate in and develop processes for equipment evaluation and selection; oversee clinical aspects of field performance, contracts, agreements, and support documentation and billing personnel.

  • Conduct and coordinate clinical quality assurance investigations, call reviews, and respond to complaints or compliments regarding medical performance; document findings and provide briefings to leadership as appropriate.

  • Track and maintain employee certifications and vaccinations in a database; review completed patient care reports for accuracy and manage utilization management plans.

  • Identify, develop, and implement quality improvement (QI) programs, including proactive and retrospective elements such as clinical call and chart reviews and trend analysis for both individual and group performance.

  • Lead and monitor the Field Training Officer (FTO) program, including selection, development of guidelines and procedures, and coordination of the FTO committee.

  • Participate in scheduling third riders, oversee clinical requirements related to contracts, and assist in creating or revising medical policy.

  • Evaluate statistics regarding Medicare, Medicaid, and other billing issues, participate in appeals processes, and assist with managed care utilization review.

  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including compliance with information systems security policies, attending training, and reporting security issues as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Licensing/Certification:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • The following certifications are required:

  • BTLS Provider or Instructor certification

  • ACLS Instructor certification

  • PALS Instructor certification.

  • Current CA State Certification as a Paramedic.

  • Acceptable driving record.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in the direct delivery of pre-hospital advanced life support as a Paramedic.

  • Applicable State Instructor/Coordinator certification.

  • Experience in performing, evaluating, instructing, and coaching all aspects of the delivery of pre-hospital care
