ADAS Validation Engineer

Seeking a qualified ADAS Validation Test Engineer. The ADAS Validation Engineer will be responsible for executing test plans and on vehicle for validating ADAS functions. The role includes the analysis and summary of data, the support of test plan development and bringing immediate attention to critical failures found in test.

Job Duties:

* Execute, or support execution of, test procedures for various ADAS and Automated Driving features and applications
* Collect and analyze data and test results and report findings and results to the cross-functional team
* Review test plans and procedures for application to specific vehicle programs and architectures
* Utilize and troubleshoot issues with in-vehicle test equipment such as GPS systems, steering and pedal robots, robotically controlled targets (GST, moving Pedestrian, etc.) and CAN recording tools (Canalyzer, Canope)
* Participate in collaboration discussions with program leads to prioritize Validation activities
* Support troubleshooting and hardware and software updates on test vehicles as needed. Work with program leads to understand proper level of software for Validation.
* Participate in collaboration discussions with global organizations to ensure standardization of tools, methodologies, models and test scripts
* Support the creation of test scenarios for vehicle and virtual validation based on vehicle level function
* Support vehicle testing at the proving ground for correlation of virtual and physical validation.

*In-person work requiring the ability to support activities at Cheslea Proving Grounds.

Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience and/or academic research in an automotive engineering environment
  • Experience with Vehicle ADAS/Active Safety system level validation and feature function
  • Ability to read and analyze digital communications data (CAN/LIN/Ethernet)
  • Experience in Can logging tools (e.g. Canalyzer)
  • Experience with independent measurement systems, including ground truth reference level sensors, dGPS, cameras, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully execute tasks under minimal supervision
  • Ability to Lead and work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Desire to work on vehicles and in a test environment (hands-on)


Travel and Driving Requirements:



  • Will be required to drive a company car. Valid driver's license is required as well as a clean driving record.


Flexible Working Hours:



  • ADAS testing is to be performed during the day and at night (after dark). The candidate must be flexible and may need to work during the day or night as the test plan dictates.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Minimum of 7 years' experience and/or academic research in an automotive engineering environment
  • Proficient with vehicle networking including CAN, CANFD, and Automotive Ethernet
  • Proficient with Stellantis Electrical Architectures
  • Experience utilizing general engineering tools FMEA, DVP&R, Lessons Learned
  • Demonstrated ability to validate system/feature function and testing metrics to ensure end design meets functional intent
  • Ability to reference vehicle requirements and interpret to test and Validation pass/fail criteria
  • Understanding of vehicle functional safety standards ISO 26262
