The Azure Core business is hiring a Chief of Staff to support one of our organizations. As the trusted partner to the CVP and their leadership team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the team's success. This role is a highly collaborative and visible position that requires extensive cross-group coordination at all levels and the ability to manage high-volume, high-impact work. This individual will lead the Rhythm of the Business (RoB), and partner closely with the CVP to develop the strategy and operational execution of the group. This individual will shape and improve our business operations.We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Chief of Staff to support a Corporate Vice President (CVP)/GM in the Azure Core engineering organization. This role is pivotal in driving operational excellence and ensuring the seamless execution of strategic initiatives. This candidate will be a proactive leader with a strong background in operations and a passion for fostering collaboration and efficiency within the engineering team. This individual will partner closely with the CVP to drive the strategy and operational excellence of the group, as well as shape and improve our business operations. As Chief of Staff, you will drive a diverse charter that includes leading the team's Rhythm of the Business (RoB), internal people rhythms and communications, team connectedness, and management processes. The Chief of Staff will provide insight and advice to the LT around operational excellence, headcount, resourcing, fiscal planning, and participate in overall group strategy decisions. You will also partner with the Leader and Human Resources Partner on organizational health initiatives, support executive engagements with customers, and support and coordinate external communications where needed.This role requires someone who can think strategically at global and local scales, and effectively develop key processes, procedures, and communications plans that facilitate business planning and execution. This position requires extensive cross-group and cross-boundary coordination at all levels, competent written and verbal communication, a wide range of analytical capabilities, and the ability to build compelling internal presentations, customer-facing content, and comprehensive business review materials.Microsoft is on a mission to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership: Drive strategic initiatives and provide thought leadership. Identify issues that impede business group success and provide solutions/recommendations. Identify opportunities to create cross-group collaboration and synergies. Orchestrate team design conversations and facilitate successful implementation of organizational plans. Demonstrate discretion and professionalism when working with the leadership team on sensitive business and organizational issues. Manage ambiguity and negotiate workable solutions to challenging problems.Culture & People Programs: Work closely with the CVP, HR, and leadership team to identify, analyze, and develop strategies to improve organizational health. Partner with leaders and HR to drive MS Employee Signals action planning. Orchestrate team trainings and brownbag series to contribute to ongoing learning and development. Define, plan, and drive cross-team process improvements (e.g., team recognition, cultural events, retention strategies). Elevate our partnership with Recruiting business partners to ensure our organization attracts the best and brightest candidates, that openings are filled quickly, and that we meet organizational hiring objectives and key measures. Drive and ensure a positive onboarding experience and continuous training programs for the organization.Business Integration: Lead and coordinate RoB and improve processes to run the business efficiently. Establish the RoB for the organization and work with the Azure Core central office and HR organization to coordinate aligned business processes and management control processes.Business Planning and Leadership: Partner with the Leadership Team to manage the planning process, ensuring coordination with product planning processes as well as planning integration across the broader organization. Work with cross-division, cross-company, and cross-team counterparts to manage participation as needed for key business events, running strategy reviews, and other strategic business planning activities.Ability to Support Frequent and Fast-Paced Context Shifts: This role requires the ability to manage and thrive in an environment with frequent and fast-paced context shifts. This candidate should be comfortable with rapidly changing priorities and be able to quickly adapt to new tasks and challenges. This position may be best aligned to individuals who excel in dynamic environments rather than those who prefer periods of focused time to complete tasksCommunications: Plan and execute the CVP's communications strategy in partnership with key communications stakeholders. Be accountable for vehicles and channels that support organizational strategic missions. Drive internal communications for team meetings and other internal communications at major milestones. Plan and manage team meetings including All Hands, staff meetings, and manager meetings. Coordinate and manage the CVP's external communications for customer/partner engagements and all other speaking engagements, ensuring successful and impactful use of the CVP's time.Operational Efficiency: Drive operational efficiency by identifying and addressing process improvements and ensuring best practices are followed. Oversee the execution of key projects and initiatives, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
