Job Description

A Liquibox Field Service Engineer (LB FSE) is responsible for conducting engineering troubleshooting, rebuilding, configurate, installation, commissioning, training, preventative maintenance, and overall support of existing equipment and application along with preparing through and accurate service documentation. This position is a member of the North America Technical Service and Sales team. This role works within an integrated team of Sales, Field Support, Product Support, and Engineering Support. The FSE is responsible for proactively solving problems with our liquid packaging machines, primarily in a customer environment. This position reports into the Director of Technical Services and Sales for the North America Food team for Cryovac/Sealed Air. A successful candidate must be able to solve problems related to LB and other competitive bag-in-box filling machines. This person must quickly obtain a thorough understanding of the engineering design and be able to lead installations and commissioning of these filler machines, both for pasteurized and aseptic processing/packaging. Increase field sales by promoting the Preventive Maintenance Programs. Inform the regional office of the presence of competitive machinery or materials or other opportunities and help regain or retain market share and improve the level of customer service. Install equipment from the entire product line and provide training relating to machinery, materials, and software to achieve customer satisfaction and regain or retain market share. Order parts for new equipment, maintain adequate levels of tools and spare parts, and any additional materials required to provide quality customer service. Provide timely reporting to the regional office or departments, as directed, detailing all service activities performed or any other reports or information requested periodically to maintain a clear efficient flow of information from the field

Qualifications

  • Must have a bachelor's degree in engineering or an equivalent * 5-years' experience working on packaging machines in food plants or equivalent
  • Ability to communicate with maintenance people, Maintenance and Engineering managers, and the Plant manager. Be able to diffuse challenging environments due to machines being down the customer demanding immediate help
  • HMI and PLC expertise. Ability to upload new system programs into machines when they are down. Basic programming skills is an added bonus, but not required for this role
  • Computer software knowledge, proficient PC skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong mechanical aptitude. Previous mechanical experience and electromechanical troubleshooting are required-the ability to read prints and schematics is required.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to teach and train customers' maintenance team on how do minor maintenance work on machines. Training the customers so they can do all of the basic maintenance work and some of the more advanced work is very important
  • Organized, attention to detail. Able to write a coherent trip report that explains what is accomplished during all service visits to customers sites.
  • Ability to travel and be away from home for 60-70% of the time. Trips are typically 3-5 days long. We target 2 weeks on the road and then one week at home. This is our goal, but it fluctuates based on customer demand and how many FSE's we have
  • Flexibility to work non-standard hours to service customers' needs
  • A self-starter as most of the service visits will be solo events once the person is fully trained. Basic training on LB equipment should take 2-6 months before the candidate could then start traveling on their own
  • Positive approach, team player
  • This person will work with the customers and LB parts team to ensure the right parts are identified, ordered, shipped, and then installed on customer's machine(s) on time and of good quality

Pay Range

Total Target Compensation (Base+Commssion)


$103,571-$145,000


The range disclosed complies with applicable state and local pay transparency laws. Offers within this range will be determined by considering relevant factors including education, experience, and internal alignment. This position may also be eligible for annual performance bonuses and other incentive programs.
