Wholesale Banking B&I Reporting Analyst

SUMMARY: The Wholesale Banking B&I Reporting Analyst will support the development and delivery of business intelligence and reporting solutions for the Wholesale Banking Division. This role will focus on creating, maintaining, and analyzing BI dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to provide actionable insights for stakeholders. The analyst will ensure data accuracy, adhere to regulatory compliance, and contribute to the division's strategic objectives by delivering high-quality analytics and reporting. This is a hands-on role which requires in-depth knowledge of the financial services sector, emerging trends in the banking industry and experience of collaborating with sales and operational teams.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties and special projects may be assigned.

  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
  • Develops and maintains BI dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
  • Generates accurate and timely reports on financial performance, risk exposure, client profitability, and market trends to support business decisions.
  • Analyzes data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that drive operational efficiency and client satisfaction.
  • Data Management and Quality:
  • Ensures data accuracy and integrity by implementing quality control measures and validation processes.
  • Assists in maintaining data governance standards to comply with banking regulations (e.g., Dodd-Frank).
  • Technical Support and Development:
  • Writes and optimizes SQL queries, Python scripts, or other data querying tools to extract and transform data for reporting purposes.
  • Supports the integration of BI tools with core banking platforms, CRM systems, and other data sources.
  • Contributes to the automation of reporting processes to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
  • Works with relationship managers, product teams, and risk management to understand their data and reporting needs.
  • Presents data insights in a clear and concise manner to support decision-making by non-technical stakeholders.
  • Assists in responding to ad-hoc data and reporting requests from internal teams.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Stays updated on BI tools, technologies, and industry best practices to enhance reporting capabilities.
  • Provides recommendations for improving data processes and visualization techniques.
  • Supports the implementation of new BI tools or features as directed by the Wholesale Banking Technology Director.
  • Collaborates with relationship managers and senior leadership to understand and deliver tailored analytical solutions. Communicate business needs to the Data Analyst and translate them into requirements with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Identifies opportunities and champions best-in-class business transformation and innovation
  • Works closely with internal/external leads and partners to ensure execution quality and success.
  • Continually acquires and enhances knowledge of both the Bank's and the Operational Division's business strategies and policies, risk management practices and methodologies, product offerings, financial markets, financial instruments, regulatory requirements, back-office processes, and rapidly changing technology to be able to provide effective business solutions, services and support to the end user business lines.
  • Works with technology partners on architecture reviews and ensures solutions are aligned (build-once, multiple re-use) and escalates on any misalignment.
  • Maintains an understanding of financial services markets, the competitive landscape and client/user needs and requirements.
  • Assists with quality assurance testing prior to any release and works with users to facilitate UAT, if needed.
  • Adheres to and complies with applicable, federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to anti-money laundering (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, US PATRIOT Act, etc.).
  • Adheres to Bank policies and procedures and completes required training.
  • Identifies and reports suspicious activity.

EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science or related field required
EXPERIENCE

  • 5-7 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or reporting, preferably in Banking, Financial Services, or a related industry
  • Experience in Wholesale Banking, is a plus
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (eg, AWS, EC2, Lambda, Athena, Glue) preferred
  • Experience with data modeling, predictive analytics, or machine learning techniques preferred
  • 4+ years direct relevant working experience in the financial sector preferred
  • 4+ years of experience in data analysis preferred
  • 4+ years direct experience within an agile framework and Jira experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to work on large-scale initiatives and effectively partner with stakeholders across business and technical teams to gather requirements and business process design.
  • Proficiency in BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Quicksight, or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, and experience in Python, R, or other data analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with data warehouse, ETL process, or cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Redshift, EC2, Lambda, Athena, Glue).
  • Knowledge of CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) or core banking platform is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills to present complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of Wholesale Banking products and regulatory requirements is highly desirable.
  • Basic understanding of banking regulations and compliance requirements related to data and reporting.
  • Familiarity with CRM Systems (e.g., Salesforce) and banking software (e.g., Axiom, Precision Lender, Fiserv).
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex, technical concepts so that they are clearly understood in support of sound decisions to meet business objectives.
