Infrastructure Automation Engineer

We are seeking an Infrastructure Automation Engineer for an effort to provide systems engineering and integration of Naval software systems.

You Will:

• Be responsible for cloud infrastructure, automating and streamlining operations, building and maintaining tools for deployment, and troubleshooting/resolving issues in development, test, and production environments.
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure seamless integration and deployment.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize workflows and enhance software delivery.
• Monitor and support projects maintained by external teams for alignment to standards, best practices, and issue resolution.
• Research new technologies to support enterprise automation solutions for large DoD Systems.
• Drive continuous improvement to the development and testing framework used by CANES Engineering.
• Investigate and resolve complex issues that span multiple applications/technologies and require involvement from technical personnel across multiple groups.
• Verify documentation is easy to understand for both internal and external teams with varying skillsets and expertise.
• Provide feedback on internal processes and recommendations for improvement.
• Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related taskings as needed.
• Prepare technical briefs to present to engineering review teams.
• Decompose tasks and provide frequent status updates.

You Have:

• U.S. Citizenship.
• A minimum of a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level Security Clearance or be able to obtain an interim security clearance prior to hire date
• 6+ years of relevant, technical, C4ISR-type experience
• DoD 8570 Certifications to be qualified as an Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II.
• Experience in a DEVOPS role or similar overseeing complex IT infrastructure.
• Broad knowledge of automation tools.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively install, configure, and administer in multi-system and/or multi-application environments.
• Knowledge of client/server architecture.
• Demonstrated ability to automate the installation and configuration of applications.
• Working knowledge and experience of System Engineering processes and procedures.
• Knowledge of Linux/Windows OS and networking from a system design perspective.
• Ability to create and test virtualized environments (VMware, OpenShift, Hyper-V, AWS, Azure) for development and testing procedures that are traceable to system requirements.
• Demonstrated strong documentation and oral communication skills to clearly communicate with all levels of users, engineers, managers, and organizations.
• Self-Motivated, strong work ethic and commitment to quality
• Ability to multi-task and balance multiple goals and priorities
• Demonstrate familiarization with Agile Framework and Scrum

We'd be Impressed if You Had:

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics.
  
  
  
  • 3+ years of experience in a DEVOPS role or similar overseeing complex IT infrastructure.
  • Experience with DoD systems.
  • Ability to lead and mentor junior staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Microsoft certification (i.e., MCIT, MCSA, MCSE, etc.) Experience with Microsoft PowerShell is critical as it is heavily leveraged to automate installation, configuration, hardening, and maintenance tasks.
  • Experience with Ansible development (Inventories, Collections, Roles, Modules, Playbooks, etc.)
  • Experience with Ansible Automation Platform.
  • Experience with VMware virtual infrastructure.
  
  
  
  
• Experience with other programming/scripting languages (Bash/Python/HTML/etc.)
• Experience with OpenShift Virtualization Environments.
• Experience with Git, familiarity with GitLab, GitLab Pipelines, Artifactory, Confluence and Jira.
• Knowledgeable with integrated development environment (IDE, Visual Studio Code) for GIT management and code revision.
• Experience with developing robust, standardized development environments for teams of developers that integrate custom tools and automated testing capabilities.
• Experience with Test Driven Development.
• Experience creating and managing services in AWS or Azure.
• Certified ScrumMaster Certification.
• Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation.
• Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration.
• Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Application Development.
