Quality Assurance Analyst - Modem Firmware Testing Location: Hybrid (Denver, CO) Type: Contract-to-Hire Schedule: Flexible hybrid (varies week to week) About the Role We're looking for a curious, detail-oriented QA Analyst to join a high-impact team focused on testing and deploying firmware across millions of customer modems. If you're passionate about networking, troubleshooting, and making technology work better for real users, this is your chance to be part of something big. What You'll Do * Firmware Testing (90%) * Validate modem firmware upgrades/downgrades * Test device performance (speed, DHCP compliance, etc.) * Confirm bug fixes and new feature functionality * Troubleshoot failures and collaborate with vendors to resolve issues * Firmware Deployment (10%) * Schedule and manage firmware rollouts using internal tools * Support production testing to ensure real-world performance Must-Have Skills * Strong understanding of DHCP, DNS, and network protocols * Experience with DOCSIS, modem testing, and firmware validation * Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills * Familiarity with OSI model, routing, and general network engineering * Manual and automated QA testing experience Nice-to-Haves * Linux/Unix experience (modems run on Linux-based systems) * SNMP, IPv6 (MAPT, NDP, DHCPv6, ICMPv6, SLAAC) * SQL, MySQL, or MariaDB * TR-069, TR-104, TR-181 * Splunk Data Platform Who You Are * Inquisitive and curious - you ask "why" and dig deep into issues * Comfortable navigating ambiguity and solving complex problems * A team player who communicates clearly and collaborates well Why Join Us * Fast-track to full-time for high performers * Fun, collaborative team with strong mentorship * Be part of major tech launches like symmetrical internet speeds over cable * Help manage and improve performance across 55+ million devices Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $47.00 - $58.00/hr.
