Internal Resource Pool Nurse- Perinatal Educator OBGYN Clinic

The Perinatal Educator plays a key role in preparing patients and families for their childbirth experience as well as how to care for their infant. Educators are responsible for coordinating and providing education to the patient and family in a classroom setting as well as leading tours of the Maternity Center. Education prepares participants for childbirth and newborn care which includes baby basics, infant and child CPR, breastfeeding, and grandparenting.

The RN will develop perinatal education content and material for use in educating patients and families in accordance with applicable standards of practice. They will collaborate with departmental team members to ensure education aligns with Medical Center polices and procedures.

Position Summary: The Staff Nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and his/her family, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The Staff Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating and evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model.

Minimum Education Required
2-Year College Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in nursing

Additional Education Desired
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in nursing
Required Qualifications
Degree in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited nursing program required. Current Ohio license or interim permit. *Experience in relevant care setting preferred.

This is a Perinatal Educator IRP position.
