Talent Technology and data team is responsible for providing both strategic guidance and tactical support in the administration and support of policies, procedures and systems, in support of the NRG Human Capital Management (HCM) vision. Members of the organization will act primarily as internal consultants who are responsible for representing the business in terms of the following activities: understanding and communicating business requirements, assuring policies and procedures are followed, and systems are being used in accordance to the rules and structures as designed. Communication, training, and the infrastructure to support both, are also core components of the role that team members share. Additionally, key responsibilities are as follows:

The HRIS Analyst's primary focus is to support Payroll operations and tax-related system activities within SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP). This role is responsible for coordinating maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and providing guidance to stakeholders, ensuring accurate and compliant payroll/tax outcomes through effective system use. The HRIS Analyst will collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence, Payroll, IT, and external vendors to identify requirements, assess solutions, and deliver quality HRIS support in a fast-paced, growing organization. This position reports to the Senior Manager, HRIS.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Partner with Payroll and HR stakeholders to understand business requirements translate them into a working set of functional requirements and provide them to IT for development.
  • Create and execute test plans, test scripts, and user acceptance testing (UAT) for payroll/tax-related system changes, and upgrades.
  • Provide support for payroll/tax-related issues in SAP HCM/ECP; troubleshoot, document, and coordinate resolution with IT or vendors as needed.
  • Direct IT on business requirements for SAP configuration changes or participate in small projects and enhancements, ensuring functionality meets business needs and follows established practices.
  • Monitor payroll system updates and legislative/tax changes, assessing impact and supporting Payroll in readiness and testing.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, training, and reference materials for system processes and updates.
  • Develop and deliver reports and data extracts to support HR and Payroll operations.
  • Serve as an internal consultant, recommending technology-enabled solutions to improve accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in payroll/tax processes.
  • Support communication and training efforts related to system changes impacting payroll/tax processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience & Required Skills

  • 3+ years of experience supporting SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP), with a focus on payroll and tax processes.
  • Knowledge of U.S. payroll and tax regulations and how they are reflected in system functionality.
  • Strong understanding of integrations between SAP modules (Employee Central, Time, Finance, etc.).
  • Experience with ticketing/support systems and issue resolution.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear guidance to HR and Payroll leadership.
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Information Systems, or related field preferred.
