Job Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

American Commercial Barge Line (ACBL) is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Finance team in Jeffersonville, IN. In this role, you will be responsible for processing vendor invoices, verifying rates and approvals, reviewing vendor statements, and ensuring the accuracy of payments. You'll also serve as a key point of contact for vendors and internal partners, helping to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure smooth financial operations.


What you will be doing... Your IMPACT


  • Prepare and process vendor invoices for timely payment.



  • Verify rates, coding, and internal approvals for accuracy.



  • Serve as a resource to outside vendors regarding Cost Control and Accounts Payable inquiries.



  • Review vendor statements and match all relevant information within ACBL's barge systems.



  • Analyze vendor accounts and communicate remittance details.



  • Identify and execute rebill opportunities to capture revenue.



  • Balance and reconcile individual and departmental batches.



  • Process and properly route incoming mail to appropriate internal teams.



  • Produce management reports and collaborate cross-functionally to resolve vendor issues.



  • Perform other duties as assigned.




What we are looking for...




  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.



  • 0-3 years of Accounts Payable experience preferred; general accounting experience a plus.



  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and financial systems preferred.
