Card Dispute Specialist

At Rize Credit Union, we're dedicated to helping our members build financial confidence and security-and that starts with safeguarding their accounts. We're looking for a Card Dispute Specialist who is passionate about fraud prevention, regulatory compliance, and delivering exceptional service to our members.

This role plays a vital part in protecting both Rize and our members by identifying fraudulent activity, managing disputes and chargebacks, and ensuring compliance with Regulation E and card network rules.

After an initial training period onsite in our Irwindale office, this position may transition to a hybrid remote schedule.
Schedule: This is a full-time role, 40 hours per week, with a Saturday shift 1 to 2 times per month.

What You'll Do


  • Monitor debit and credit card transactions to identify potential fraud or risk.
  • Investigate member reports and alerts, escalating issues when appropriate.
  • Process cardholder disputes and chargebacks accurately and within regulatory timeframes.
  • Conduct detailed investigations in compliance with Regulation E and card network requirements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, audit-ready records, and detailed communication with members.
  • Manage and reconcile instant issue card inventory across all branch locations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to resolve card-related issues and strengthen fraud prevention efforts.
  • Prepare reports and summaries for leadership, highlighting fraud trends and recommending preventive measures.


What We're Looking For


  • 2+ years of experience in card operations, fraud prevention, or dispute processing (financial institution experience preferred).
  • Working knowledge of Regulation E, card network rules, and chargeback procedures.
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex issues clearly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and familiarity with core banking or card processing systems.
  • Team-oriented, dependable, and driven to provide outstanding member service.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a plus!
