Job Summary

Within the department of Tech Dining, the Catering Manager provides day-to-day management of Tech Dining catering. Responsibilities include managing catering staff and ensuring day-to-day catering objectives and events are consistently met and standards are maintained to ensure the best campus catering experience possible. Responsible for setting employee goals, assessing employee performance and providing feedback, and making pay recommendations. This position will interact on a regular basis with many levels of faculty, staff, students, and vendors associated with Tech Dining. This position will primarily advise and counsel employees with the Catering department. This position will supervise: Staff

Responsibilities

Job Duty1 -
Responsible for operational asks of catering events on campus including staffing, communication with the production staff and ensuring the delivery of quality of service and a superb customer experience.

Job Duty 2 -
Works with the Assistant Director of Catering to plan, develop, and manage unit budget to ensure fiscal controls (including cost of goods sold, labor targets and controllable expenses).

Job Duty 3 -
Hires, trains, and manages catering staff and related catering events and activities.

Job Duty 4 -
Coordinates the catering plans and events with the culinary team and other members of staff to ensure the successful execution of multiple daily events.

Job Duty 5 -
Ensures that the appropriate sanitation, organization, and safety standards are met by using checklists, performing hands-on supervision, and follow up on all catered events to ensure excellence.

Job Duty 6 -
Ensures labeling requirements are met and compliance with allergen containment procedures.

Job Duty 7 -
Implements operation specific sustainability goals and programs.

Job Duty 8 -
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
High School Diploma/GED or Vocational School Diploma.

Required Experience
Three to five years of job-related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Have current ServSafe Certification or other Georgia approved food safety certification.

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Proposed Salary

$48,000 - $65,000 Annually

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

ABILITIES
Ability to work a very flexible schedule. Ability to provide culinary training and insight for special dietary needs. And ability to think outside the box to provide an exceptional catering experience while focusing on program growth and retention.

KNOWLEDGE
Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

SKILLS
Must have excellent customer service and employee relations skills.
