Assistant Chief Pilot

Position: Assistant Chief Pilot

Location: Arizona, New Mexico, or Las Vegas, Nevada

Annual Salary Range: $160,00000 - $180,000.00

We're hiring a full-time Assistant Chief Pilot (ACP) that lives or is willing to relocate to Arizona, New Mexico, or Las Vegas, Nevada, to aid the Chief Pilot in executing their duties and responsibilities. ACPs report directly to the Chief Pilot. This position requires a high level of expertise in regulatory compliance, personnel management, policies, processes, and standard operating procedures. In conjunction with upper management, the individual will continue development of policies, procedures, and systems to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards as well as efficiency of operations. Assistant Chief Pilots will lead their regional pilot team and coordinate with program partners.

Responsibilities:

  • The Assistant Chief Pilot (ACP) will aid the Chief Pilot in executing their duties and responsibilities.

  • Maintain a high level of knowledge of the General Operations Manual, Federal Aviation Regulations, applicable accreditation requirements, and applicable company policies and procedures

  • Assist in the recruitment, hiring and discharging of flight personnel

  • Assist the Chief Pilot in creating and revising a monthly pilot schedule

  • Schedule pilots for travel, training, and other duties as necessary

  • Assist in the creation of new policies/procedures, and review existing policies/procedures to improve operations

  • Administer disciplinary actions when necessary, as directed by the Chief Pilot

  • Assist the Chief Pilot in directing and/or administering pilot flight and ground training

  • Assist the Chief Pilot to ensure line pilots are provided with a current FAR/AIM, GOM and pertinent operational information as prescribed in *135.83

  • Ensure that new pilots have been given a thorough orientation of facilities, fueling procedures, parking locations, crew vehicles, driving directions and any other pertinent information that will aid new pilots in transitioning to new operational regions

  • Other regional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Chief Pilot

  • Travel 25-50%

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must live in or be willing to relocate to Arizona, New Mexico, or Las Vegas, Nevada
  • Maintain excellent knowledge of Operations Manuals, Federal Aviation Regulations, Operations Specifications, Flight Manuals, etc
  • Ability to think strategically while attending to details
  • Skills in observation, assessment, and creative problem solving
  • Ability to communicate professionally, effectively and persuasively both orally and in writing at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure, work effectively and accurately with frequent interruptions, and set and reset multiple priorities
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Team building skills
  • Excellent public relations, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Ability to communicate professionally, effectively and clearly
  • Maintains ongoing knowledge of and communicates the importance of SOPs
  • Ability to empower, organize and motivate a team
  • Ability to work within a strong team environment
  • Willingness to work overtime, evenings and weekends

Preferred Education:

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or GED equivalent is desired.
