The Opportunity

TC Energy's US Gas SCADA team is seeking a SCADA Analyst to join us in Charleston, West Virginia. You'll play a vital role in supporting the integrity and safe operations of SCADA systems for our US Gas Business Unit, which manages multiple natural gas pipelines across the eastern United States.

This role involves working with mission-critical SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems and other operational applications. The successful candidate will have experience with SCADA systems, contributing to the maintenance, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, corrective action and administration of multiple SCADA infrastructures; familiarity with AVEVA's OASyS DNA SCADA is preferred.

You'll report to the SCADA US Manager and will support functions necessary to ensure a stable and reliable application environment.

What you'll do

  • Ensure 24/7/365 stability and reliability of application services as part of an on-call rotation

  • Provide technical oversight of the applications they support

  • Collaborate with vendors to resolve issues impacting supported applications

  • Interface with business partners/stakeholders to understand business requirements, which influence functional requirements of SCADA systems

  • Manage applications through production support, maintenance, and new implementations

  • Execute system administration and change management functions per defined procedures

  • Maintain technical integrity and efficiency of the delivered solutions

  • Develop system application deliverables such as screen layouts, graphical user interfaces, reports, system interfaces, test scripts, and training materials

  • Develop and maintain system documentation including process maps, data flows, infrastructure diagrams, as well as installation and configuration procedures

  • Contribute to problem solving, continuous improvement and standardization efforts for SCADA-related work processes

  • Ensure compliance with all departmental, corporate and regulatory policies

Minimum Qualifications

  • A degree in Computer Science / Engineering would be preferred; however, a combination of education and experience would be considered

  • A minimum of four (4+) years of related experience in SCADA

  • Previous experience with gas and/or liquids pipeline operation including hands-on SCADA system

  • Proficient with common software development tools and methods

  • Proficient with MS Office tools such as Word and Excel

  • Proficient with Office365 tools such as PowerBI and Teams

  • Understand relational database design concepts (table structure; one-to-many relationships) and how to query data using Structured Query Language (SQL)

  • Understand application development methodology and/or application life cycle

  • Proficient with MS Windows OS, MS Windows Server OS, MS SQL Server (including SSRS)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AVEVA's OASyS DNA and Enterprise SCADA applications

  • Display Standards and Development and SCADA and Measurement Protocols

  • Excellent organizational and planning skills and can manage competing priorities under tight deadlines

  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills
