The Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Engineering Department with a focus on Customer Requirements, planning and organizing, supporting change, decision making and coaching, and delegating. The Engineering Manager performs work in compliance with established policies and procedures which provide Continuous Improvement, Quality Improvement, productivity gains, and cost reductions. Performs and delegates tasks for quotations and ordered projects through: planning, cost controls, communication, reporting and administration, resource allocation, and customer management. The Engineering Manager provides for troubleshooting and resolution for situations within the Engineering Department.

* Supervise the Engineering Department to meet: customer requirements, scheduling goals, personnel training, and to provide for Continuous Improvement activities.

* Work with other areas to: coordinate project delivery, provide assistance for project issue resolution, and help manage expectations.

* Provides leadership for planning, coordinating and execution of projects ensuring cross functional communication and involvement.

* Provide assistance in training staff on current practices applicable to Sulzer Machine and Manufacturing's operations.

* Monitor skills of staff and make recommendations for quality and productivity improvements.

* Participates in project execution to help resolve conflicts: in priorities, resourcing, and coordination between projects.

* Perform project management duties to meet: customer expectations, project goals, and timely release of quotations and work orders.

* Makes recommendations on techniques, software, practices, and equipment that are not currently utilized by Sulzer Machine and Manufacturing that may be of immediate or future benefit.

* Directs, maintains, and enforces good safety practices.
