Energy Transfer is a master limited partnership that owns and operates one of the largest and most diversified portfolios of energy assets in the United States. In total, the Company owns and operates approximately 90,000 miles of natural gas, crude oil, refined products, and natural gas liquids pipelines, terminals, and acquisition and marketing assets which are used to facilitate the purchase and sale of crude oil, natural gas, natural gas liquids, and refined products.

The Process Engineering Intern will support the development, design, and optimization of Energy Transfer's midstream and processing assets. This role offers exposure to real-world engineering projects related to Cryogenic Gas Processing Plants, NGL Fractionation facilities, NGL Exports, Petrochemical operations, Alternative Energy, and Emerging Technologies.

The intern will work alongside experienced engineers and project managers, gaining hands-on experience in process design, project development, and operations support within a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist engineers and project managers in the design, evaluation, and development of midstream projects such as amine treaters, condensate stabilizers, glycol dehydration units, cryogenic gas plants, NGL fractionation, and export terminals.
  • Support the preparation of technical documentation including process flow diagrams (PFDs), heat and material balances, and equipment data sheets.
  • Participate in data collection, process simulations, and performance evaluations for existing and proposed assets.
  • Help evaluate operating scenarios and contribute to the development of project scopes and preliminary cost estimates.
  • Provide technical and administrative support for engineering reviews, safety assessments, and design development.
  • Collaborate across engineering disciplines, operations, and project management to support safe and efficient project execution.
  • Gain familiarity with industry codes, company standards, and safety protocols in the design and operation of process facilities.

Required Skills (External)

Preferred qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in college majoring in Engineering
  • Strong computer and advanced Excel skills preferred
  • Must possess a strong willingness to learn
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to adapt well to rapidly changing priorities and responsibilities
  • Ability to organize, perform and prioritize various functions in a fast paced environment
  • Must be a team player, and able to work effectively with a diverse workforce and with various levels within the organization
