Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated PCB Quality Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, evaluating, and repairing printed circuit boards (PCBs) using both Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) equipment and hands-on rework techniques. Your work directly supports product quality, reliability, and the overall success of our manufacturing operations.

This position is ideal for individuals with experience in electronics, assembly, quality control, soldering, or similar technical environments.

Essential Functions
  • Operate Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) machines to identify defects such as scratches, missing components, incorrect placements, or other anomalies on PCBs

  • Perform manual rework and repairs per IPC standards, including hand soldering and component replacement

  • Conduct detailed visual inspections and document findings to ensure defects are addressed properly

  • Collaborate with team members to resolve issues and continuously improve inspection processes

  • Maintain accurate records of inspection results, defects found, and completed rework

  • Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of AOI equipment

  • Ensure all PCBs meet quality standards, customer specifications, and company requirements

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

  • Support ongoing continuous improvement initiatives and quality-focused efforts

  • Prioritize tasks and adapt to changing production needs

  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Competencies
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Hands-on experience in manufacturing, assembly, quality inspection, or electronics preferred

  • Skilled in hand soldering (IPC experience is a plus)

  • AOI machine experience preferred but not required-training available

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to stand for long periods, bend, lift 50+ pounds, and work in a loud manufacturing environment

  • Willingness to work night shift (Sunday-Wednesday schedule), with overtime as needed

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment
  • Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, mechanical equipment, and loud noise

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, and lifting 50+ pounds

  • Requires close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

Physical Demands

This position is highly active and requires regular standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, climbing, and lifting. Team members must be able to lift and move items over 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close and distance viewing, color differentiation, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Position Type / Expected Hours

This is a full-time, night shift position.

  • Standard Schedule:
    Sunday-Tuesday: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM
    Wednesday: 6:00 PM - 12:30 AM

  • Overtime Schedule:
    Sunday-Wednesday: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM

Travel

Little to no travel is required.

Required Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Experience
  • Manufacturing or electronics industry experience

  • Quality inspection or PCB experience is a plus but not mandatory

Work Authorization

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
