Job Summary

Collaborates with investigators and administrative staff to coordinate the management of grant-related expenditures and financial administration of awards, including grant set up, review and approval of costs, budget modifications, closeouts, collections, reporting obligations and financial reconciliations. Ensures post award activities are in compliance with agency and institutional policies, interprets grant and contract requirements and regulations.

  • Manages Post-Award financial grant function. Coordinates fiscal plans and participates in the administration of accounts and administrative oversight for expenditures.
  • Reviews award budget modifications. Serves as a liaison between Principal Investigators (PI's) and sponsors for required approvals.
  • Creates sponsored project budgets in coordination with PI's and/or departmental administrators.
  • Updates financial systems for award amendments. Prepares and monitors cost share projects to ensure compliance with university and sponsor guidelines.
  • Performs reporting, analysis, grant closeout, award ledger, and reconciliation functions.
  • Approves various personnel contracts, participant payment requests, and reimbursement.
  • Assists PI's, faculty members, and administrators with various business transactions pertaining to sponsored projects.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
  • Interprets and implements policies and procedures as they apply to an assigned area.
  • May recommend changes on policy and procedures as necessary.
  • Assists upper level manager with gathering documentation for external audits.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and one (1) year of related experience; OR five (5) years of related experience; OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.


Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with finance.
  • Previous coursework in Finance, Accounting or Business.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
