Unit Highlights

NursesonUnit2W(Spinal Cord Injury) careforpatients with a focus on spinal cord injury (SCI), orthopedics, burns, and amputees. The unit is the preferred site for SCI patients with flaps. Patientsare admittedfrom out of state, outside hospitals, nursinghomes, andhomes. Nurses on 2 West have the have the opportunityto workwith andcaringfor this specialized patient population along with other members of the interdisciplinary team for safe quality care. Team members include physicians, psychologists, physical and occupational therapists, speech therapists, wound and ostomy care nurses, social workers, and case managers.

Key Responsibilities

The rehabilitation clinical nurse is a key member of the interdisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered rehabilitation nursing services to individuals with a disability and/or chronic illness toattainand maintain maximum function. The rehabilitation clinical nurseassistspatients in adapting to an altered lifestyle, whileprovidinga therapeutic environment forclientsand theirfamilies'development.The rehabilitation clinical nurse designs and implements treatment strategies based on scientific nursing theory related to self-care and promotes physical, psychosocial, and spiritual health.Rehabilitation Nursesperformroles as Teachers, Caregivers, Collaborators and Client Advocates. As a member of an interdisciplinary team, you will add "Life to Years" for the patientsyouserve.

Qualifications

  • ADN,BSN,MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursingrequired.If prepared at the associate degree in nursing level,requiredto enroll in a BSN program within12months of hire date and completion within4yearsof hire date.

  • 1-2 + years ofNursing experiencerequired.

  • ActiveDCRNLicense and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providersrequired.

This position has a hiring range of $40.33 - $54.92
