Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) - Mid-Level

LOCATION: Eglin AFB, FL

JOB STATUS: Full-time

CLEARANCE: Top Secret

CERTIFICATION: Security + or better

TRAVEL: 15%

The 46th Test Squadron is searching for a well-qualified cybersecurity engineer to perform duties as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) who will work with a team of professionals that supports test engineers, exercises, and tactical datalinks test events. We realize no one may have all the qualifications necessary to fill this position, however, we are looking for someone that has a strong background in cybersecurity, Risk Management Framework (RMF), network/system scanning and assessments, and has the drive and motivation to learn and take us to the next level of compliance.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and a minimum of 3 years of technical experience are required. Additional experience may be substituted for education.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Must have an active and current DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance.
  • Security+ or better certification required.
  • Past DoD cybersecurity experience required.
  • Experience in performing STIG assessments and ACAS scans.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Current active Top Secret security clearance.
  • Prior use of Security Compliance Checker.
  • Experience in performing security audits on systems and enclaves.
  • Experience assessing Windows and Linux operating systems, virtual systems, network devices, database and web applications.
  • Experience in performing Air Force software and application certification assessments.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs duties of an ISSO in the Datalinks Test Laboratory (DTL) under direction of the Information System Security Manager (ISSM).
  • Requires thorough knowledge of the RMF life cycle.
  • Conduct reviews and audits as prescribed by the ISSM.
  • Ensures system compliance with prescribed security policies and procedures.
  • Ensures system changes are conducted in accordance with security policy and procedures.
  • Performs Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) assessments and Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) scans as required.
  • Continually monitors DTL systems and their environment.
  • In coordination with the ISSM, develops system-level security procedures that are consistent with cybersecurity policies.
  • Performs or oversees remediation activities to maintain DTL system and enclave authorization status.
  • Assists ISSM in performing Security Impact Assessments.
  • Manages identified vulnerability remediation.
  • Manages security incidents, supporting audits and investigations.
  • Performs other cyber security tasks as assigned.
