Position Information

Venable LLP's Technology & Innovation Group's Venable Blue team seeks an Analyst, Trust & Safety to join the Washington, D.C. or New York office. This is a non-attorney position.


The Analyst, Trust & Safety will be responsible for deep manual and automated testing experience across multiple platforms. The Analyst, Trust & Safety is fluent in assistive technologies and multiple testing tools and has significant exposure to accessibility regulations and guidelines. The work of the Analyst, Trust & Safety will be fast-paced, dynamic, proactive, and impactful. The person in this role will deliver value to our clients, while making a larger impact on society.


Key Responsibilities Include:



  • Run automated and manual tests, review, and validate findings across multiple platforms.
  • Analyze patterns and problems to support remediation and compliance. Format results.
  • Support the governance team in updating requirements and test use cases.
    Learn/master the accessibility governance.


Required Qualifications:



  • B.A. or B.S. degree required; Master's degree (or equivalent) preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in testing website applications and mobile apps for accessibility. (Experience testing streaming platforms, set top boxes, games, facilities, and other platforms and technologies for accessibility is a plus).
  • Deep experience with desktop, mobile and responsive web applications.
  • Proficiency with accessibility standards, guidelines (WCAG, WAI-AIRA) and legal frameworks (ADA, CVAA, AADC, CPRA, EAA, etc.) required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite products required.
  • Proficient in effective documentation on multiple systems and areas required.
  • Structural understanding of programming languages for analysis, e.g., HTML, CSS, Java, required. (Apple OS, Roku, Android Kotlin, Reactive Native, Samsung Tizen is a plus).
  • Fluency in regulatory requirements (FCC, ADA, CVAA, Global Accessibility Laws) a plus.
  • Experience with assistive technology testing tools such screen readers required. ANDI, NVDA, Jaws, Continuum, Selenium, and Harding Tools preferred but not required.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • 1-3 years of minimum work experience in high profile settings, such as presenting to leadership and driving cross-functional teams.
  • Strong attention to detail, highly determined, and results oriented.
  • Executive presence and ability to lead, manage, and coordinate cross-functional teams across numerous stakeholders.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for both VP-level stakeholders as well as mid-level stakeholders.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience with streaming, OTT, linear, and audio technologies preferred but not required.
  • IAAP Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC), Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS), or other certification preferred but not required.

The salary range for Analyst positions is $85,000 - $115,000 per year. This is the minimum and maximum salary that Venable in good faith believes at the time of this posting that it is willing to pay for the advertised position. Exact compensation will be determined based on individual candidate qualifications and location.
