Maintain ongoing daily communication and follow-up with assigned categories, Regions and/or Sales Team to ensure retail accuracy and distributions are properly loaded; gather and disseminate information for the internal customer; and provide item authorizations.

  • Pay rate: $56,000 to $62,000 per year.
  • This role is also eligible to participate in the annual incentive plan with a target incentive of 10% of your base annual salary.

What you'll do as a Sales Support Representative:

  • Coordinate the distribution information from Sales Team/customer, vendor, and/or divisions to be used to properly load distributions into McLane distribution system, either manually or using systemic automation.
  • Maintain distribution orders, take appropriate action and communicate concerns.
  • Coordinate, input information as necessary, and communicate with the Sales Team on resets, plan-o-gram changes, Item Authorization and Management maintenance, order guides changes, new and closed stores, cost change information, and new item information that promotes a better working relationship between McLane Sales and the customer.
  • Review Item Authorization and Management item maintenance, test bills, daily and weekly out of stock reports and MPulse reports as well as provide information from document direct as needed to aid our Sales Team in decision making.
  • Develop an ongoing dialogue with Internal Departments that promotes idea sharing, faster customer communication, team building and issue resolution for our customer's benefit.
  • Maintain a good relationship with McLane Sales Team, Division personnel (such as assigned Customer Service Representatives, Customer Service Managers) and the Corporate Buying Group.
  • Track and take proactive action on retail promotions with Corporate Purchasing to ensure adequate inventory in all divisions.
  • Track, analyze, and act on out-of-stocks and communicate to appropriate Sales Team and/or Corporate Buyer.
  • Provide the Sales Team with reporting and cost change information.
  • Be willing to drive innovation and continuous improvement in process efficiency and practices through data driven decisions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications you'll bring as a Sales Support Representative:

  • High School Diploma or GED. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Two or more years of experience in sales, sales operations, sales support, and/or customer service.
  • Internal candidates should have a minimum experience in McLane Company of not less than 2 years.
  • Ability to learn McLane applications including the Distribution System, Internet Distribution System, Virtual
  • Tradeshow, Item Authorization and Management, McLane's Analysis and Reporting Tools, Document Direct, Tableau, Power BI/Fabric, and RPA.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel, as well Microsoft SharePoint, Teams and PowerPoint skills.
  • Ability to work with and communicate to, both verbally and written, many different reporting levels, to include McLane Sales Team, analysts, customer service, and peers.
  • Ability to present processes clearly and concisely in Internal meetings with analysts, IT&D, Sales Team and third-party contractors.
  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to communicate and execute based on those conclusions.
  • Relentless commitment to delivering a superior customer experience, internally and externally. Skills to build productive relationships.
  • Be able to travel as required.
  • This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
