#CA-LA This position is responsible for overseeing the provision of technical support in the outpatient operating room. This includes, but is not limited to, quality control and maintenance of safe and functioning equipment and instrumentation, operation of video endoscopy systems, navigational image guided systems, microscopes, lasers, robotic surgical systems and other complex medical devices. The incumbent may be the Area Safety Coordinators (ASC) and manage safety requirements to help achieve worker safety and regulatory compliance for the outpatient operating rooms; oversees employee safety orientation and training; coordinates safety activities; implements a hazard communication program; ensures area emergency preparedness; safety audit liaison for Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S); manages worker's comp reports and department injury prevention.
This position also performs administrative responsibilities across the Perioperative Services Department, to include collaboration with perioperative support staff to effectively support care for patients undergoing outpatient surgical intervention; Manages and tracks Department Repair Orders (DRO) for equipment; responsible for the procurement of goods and services. This includes the management and tracking of equipment and supplies, product evaluations, vendor relationships, interdepartmental relationships and cost reduction initiatives. - 3 years Surgical Technician Experience
- 1 year experience in lead, supervisory role or ability to demonstrate experience outside normal surgical technician duties.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) or UC Davis Health CPR
- Required to hold a valid California driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience/training.
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technician Program.
- Laser Safety Certification within 3 months of hire if not previously obtained and valid at time of acceptance
- Ability to understand and communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic computations (additions, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Knowledge and practice of basic aseptic technique when carrying out assignments.
- Demonstrated ability for utilization of conflict resolution skills.
- Strong communication skills and proven history of positive interpersonal relations; business organization and management, tolerance for ambiguity, written and verbal skills, computer aptitude and inventory management skills are essential; demonstrated mastery prioritization, time management and organization skills.

- Certification in Surgical Technology.
- Associates degree in any profession or discipline
