JOB FUNCTION / SUMMARY:

Responsible for Commercial Credit Risk & Profitability Analysis, continued implementation of a Two Dimensional Risk Rating protocol and representing Credit Administration in implementing Commercial Credit process improvements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for Commercial Risk Policy development, driving change within the Organization - to maintain or exceed both Corporate Commercial Asset Quality and Profitability goals while supporting Commercial Loan Growth.
  • Reviews and analyzes the Company's Commercial Loan Portfolios as to credit risk considerations to maintain quality control and minimize loss and maximize profitability.
  • Responsible for developing quantitative/analytic models and applications in support of the Company's risk management effort.
  • Responsible for creation of analytical methods to assess Commercial market, credit and/or operational risks of new and existing credit products.
  • Assists the Director of Credit Risk Analytics and/or Senior Credit Admin Officer by researching and implanting various programs and projects.
  • Responsible for the successful implementation of SunGard Optimist and Strategist and ensuring maximum utilization post implementation to achieve stated objectives.
  • Secondary Duties:
  • Assists with training of the franchise on Commercial and Business Banking Loans.
  • Builds relationships throughout the franchise relative to Commercial Credit Risk Management.
  • Responsible for ensuring that system changes support the unit with reporting needs.
  • Responsible for all reports that monitor and track Commercial Credit Risk trends.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directly supervises two to four non-supervisory employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; six to eight years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Language Skills
    • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing using the English language
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents
    • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
    • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format
    • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors
  • Mathematical Skills
    • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations and permutations
    • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory and factor analysis.
  • Reasoning Ability
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
    • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Computer Skills
    • Ability to learn or knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
    • Ability to learn or knowledge of Outlook email program
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
    • No specific certifications, licensure or registrations are needed to satisfactorily perform this job

ESSENTIAL MENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines
  • Ability to operate related equipment to perform the essential job functions
  • Ability to read and interpret a document if required to perform the essential job functions
  • Ability to travel if required to perform the essential job functions
  • Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 10 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions. If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department/division an "undue hardship" then the employee must be accommodated; hence omitting lifting/moving/carrying as a physical requirement.
